The Mouse Research Pathology Service is the only service at the Yale School of Medicine providing pathologic phenotyping by comparative veterinary pathologists. In addition to gross and histologic evaluation of animal models, we also provide a variety of high quality histology services tailored to individual projects.

The following charging options are available:

• Phenotyping: Tissues or animals submitted by the investigator are processed, slides made by the histology lab, and returned together with interpretation by a veterinary pathologist. Fees are charged either by whole animal , or by slide.
• Slide service only: Tissues submitted by the investigator are processed by the histology lab, and slides returned to the investigator. Fees are given per slide for paraffin sections. For frozen sections, charges are by the hour rather than per slide. This price list also applies to investigators who require phenotyping by a pathologist, and have covered the pathologist on a grant.
• Labor: Hourly charges are applied to pathologists review of slides provided by the investigator, tissue collection by a prosector from animals provided by the investigator, or specialty histotechnology services such as frozen sectioning or embryo embedding.
