Deepa Jayaram, MBBS

Dr. Deepa Jayaram is a clinical nephrologist with over two decades of clinical experience. She graduated from K.E.M Hospital, Seth G.S. Medical College, Mumbai University, India, and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center/University of Illinois. She further pursued a Fellowship in Nephrology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, followed by advanced training in Transplant Nephrology at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Jayaram’s extensive practice in both India and the United States has provided her with a unique perspective, enabling her to integrate diverse clinical approaches and cultural sensitivities into patient care. She is skilled in the management of acute kidney injury, glomerular diseases, tubulo-interstitial disorders, complex hypertension, electrolyte imbalances, chronic kidney disease, and dialysis (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis). Her patient-centered approach is marked by empathy and a commitment to addressing individual concerns.

She has a special interest in Onco-Nephrology and is a key member of the Yale Onco-Nephrology Program. Her clinical focus centers on nephrotoxicity associated with oncologic therapies. Practicing at Temple Medical Center, she works in close collaboration with oncologists to deliver comprehensive care for cancer patients experiencing a broad spectrum of kidney-related disorders, including acute kidney injury (AKI), chronic kidney disease (CKD), hypertension, glomerular diseases, and complex electrolyte disturbances.

She is committed to academics and enjoys teaching and mentoring fellows, residents and students.
