McCurdy Chosen to Receive CPDD Early Career Investigator Grant

Li Yan McCurdy, PhD, assistant professor of psychiatry, has been chosen to receive the College on Problems of Drug Dependence (CPDD) Early Career Investigator grant.

The grant is for $10,000 which McCurdy will use to conduct a pilot clinical trial of a social support intervention for individuals who engage in problematic stimulant use.

CPDD awards three grants annually to young investigators whose research is related to substance use disorders.

McCurdy’s research is centered on facilitating addiction recovery through empowerment and social connection. She has been involved in the development and evaluation of digital interventions for addiction, including her social support intervention designed to support individuals in early addiction recovery by increasing engagement with recovery community resources.
