Maya Prabhu, MD, LLB, associate professor of psychiatry and associate professor adjunct of law, has been appointed chief of the Consulting Forensic Psychiatrists Service for the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
Prabhu has been a consulting forensic psychiatrist working with DMHAS clients since 2015. She is also associate program director of the Forensic Fellowship Program in the Law and Psychiatry Division at Yale School of Medicine and the Connecticut Mental Health Center.
Prabhu was the 2017 recipient of the Roger Coleman Memorial Award for Service to Patients of the Connecticut Psychiatric Society. She is chair of the Cross-Cultural Committee of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, and chair of the APA Guttmacher Award Committee.
