Biography
Dr. T.J. Sullivan (he/him) is a postdoctoral associate with the Yale LGBTQ Mental Health Initiative at the Yale School of Public Health in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences. He earned his PhD in clinical psychology from Stony Brook University in 2024 and completed his clinical residency at the VA Puget Sound Healthcare System, Seattle Divison. Dr. Sullivan's research broadly spans the domains of stress, trauma, violence, close relationships, and LGBTQ stigma. His work examines how adversity, trauma, and stigma can bring people in close relationships together or tear them apart. Because relationships are a key foundation to psychotherapy, Dr. Sullivan's work is geared towards generating knowledge that can help to fine-tune interventions to maximize therapeutic change. Dr. Sullivan is especially passionate about clinician education and science-practice integration.
