Implementation Science
Treatment innovations must reach individuals in need and must do so without furthering health inequities. We work closely with community partners to understand the mental health needs of LGBTQ communities and to respond to those needs by building local capacity to deliver high-quality mental health. For example, we are working with 90 LGBTQ community centers across the US to study the best ways of training local mental health providers in LGBTQ-affirmative CBT. At the same time, we are documenting and working within the real-world barriers and facilitators of implementation success that differ across diverse communities. We engage our community partners throughout this research to ensure effective, equitable translation from our lab to the community.
