October 17, 2014

Tami P. Sullivan, Ph.D., associate professor of psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine and director of family violence research and programs at The Consultation Center, was selected to attend a "Protect All Women" roundtable discussion on October 16th with former Arizona congresswoman Gabby Giffords, who was seriously injured in a 2011 shooting rampage.

Dr. Sullivan was joined by U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, as well as more than a dozen legislators and leaders in the fields of domestic violence and law enforcement.

Giffords is a co-founder of Americans for Responsible Solutions, which seeks to reduce gun violence and increase "sensible" gun control legislation. She encouraged people, particularly women, not to give up on the fight for peace.

The event was held at Kingswood Oxford School in West Hartford.
