ERASE Provides Tools for Responding when Patients Mistreat Trainees

While faculty have received training for years on how to respond when supervisors and colleagues engage in misconduct, until fairly recently there was no guidance available when patients mistreated trainees.

An evidence-based path forward for diversity training in medicine
Yale Psychiatry faculty members recently wrote an article in response and challenge to the executive order that restricted diversity training in the federal government. The interdisciplinary group worked to create a response to this and to lay out a case for why diversity training is important/needed, evidence-based, and why this executive order should be swiftly rescinded.

Older Adults Teaching Health Care Professional Students During COVID-19 Pandemic
In September, 235 first-year Yale MD, Physician Associate (PA), and Graduate Entry Pre-specialty in Nursing (GEPN) students practiced patient-centered interviewing with over 200 volunteers aged 65 and older—virtually. Beyond gaining early telehealth experience, the students had the opportunity to incorporate questions about the “4Ms”—mobility, medication, mentation, and what matters most—into conversations with older adults.
