The Jiang Laboratory in the Departments of Genetics and Neuroscience at Yale University is seeking highly motivated candidates for a postdoctoral position. Our research focuses on understanding the molecular, cellular, and neurological mechanisms underlying neurogenetic and neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, epilepsy, and related conditions, and on developing innovative genome- and epigenome-editing therapies for rare neurogenetic disorders including genetic causing autism spectrum disorders.
In collaboration with Dr. Jiangbing Zhou, Professor of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, we have developed a novel delivery technology for genome and epigenome editing in the brain and other organs. This platform, termed the Stimuli-responsive Traceless Engineering Platform (STEP), is a non-viral, non-nanoparticle delivery system that enables efficient transport of Cas9- and dCas9-based editors throughout the central nervous system (PMID 41292800). The laboratory is an active member of the NIH Somatic Cell Genome Editing (SCGE) Consortium and is advancing multiple therapeutic programs toward clinical translation.
The successful candidate will participate in projects focused on neurogenetic and neurodevelopmental disorders using mouse models, patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), and brain organoid systems. Research opportunities include disease modeling using neuroscience methods, genome and epigenome editing, genetic therapy development, behavioral neuroscience, molecular genetics, and translational studies aimed at developing treatments for rare neurological disorders.
Applicants should be highly motivated and possess experience in molecular biology, neuroscience, and mouse-based research. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in neurogenetic disease models, genome editing, stem cell biology, or related areas. Candidates must have recently completed a PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field and demonstrate a strong record of scientific accomplishment, including at least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
To apply, please send the following materials to Email: yong-hui.jiang@yale.edu
- Curriculum Vitae
- Brief statement of research interests and career goals
- Names and contact information for three references

The Jiang laboratory in the Genetics and Neuroscience is seeking highly-motivated candidates for a postdoctoral position. Interests in the laboratory focus on developing new treatments for neurogenetic and neurodevelopmental disorders using CRISPR somatic genome editing approach. In collaborating with Dr. Jiangbing Zhou, Professor of Biochemical Engineering, we have developed a new delivery platform for genome editing mediated by Cas9 and dCas9 in brains and other organs. The new delivery platform, termed Stimuli-responsive Traceless Engineering Platform (STEP) is a non-viral and non-nanoparticle based platform that is capable to penetrate to brain very efficiently. We have recently received a large NIH grant as a part of Phase 2 of NIH Somatic Genome Editing Consortium. The candidate is expected to develop and test a CRISPR/Cas9 editing based treatment for neurogenetic diseases of interests in mouse model as well as in patient derived IPSC and brain organoids.
Applicants should be highly motivated with experience in molecular biology, neurological techniques, and mouse study. Of particular interest are candidates with research experience neurogenetic disease mouse models. The candidate must have a recent PhD or MD/PhD degree in a relevant field with a proven track record of scientific productivity including at least one first author publication in a peer-reviewed journal. Excellent written and oral communication skills are expected. The candidate will be expected to work independently in the design and execution of experiments with guidance from the principal investigator. As projects in the laboratory are often highly collaborative, the candidate should be able to work effectively and enthusiastically in a team environment.
Candidates should send a Curriculum Vitae, a statement of research interests and career goals, and names / contact information for three references to: yong-hui.jiang@yale.edu. Anticipated start date is immediately.
