Biography

Anna M. Rios grew up in Williams, California, north of San Francisco. She began at the University of California, Berkeley at the age of 14, as part of a gifted program for youth. Anna was then selected by Berkeley for the Goldwater Scholarship, a national award for undergraduates with strong research potential in the natural sciences, engineering, and mathematics. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in 2022, she enrolled at Harvard and led independent research at the medical school as a Research Scholar Initiative fellow. In 2024, Anna was awarded the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and transitioned to Yale. She is now pursuing a PhD in neuroscience, in the labs of Dr. Pietro De Camilli and Dr. Thomas Melia.
