Biography
Anna Rios grew up in Williams, California, north of San Francisco. She began taking courses at the University of California, Berkeley at the age of 14, as part of an initiative for high-achieving youth. Anna then earned Berkeley's nomination for the Goldwater Scholarship, a national award for outstanding undergraduates in the sciences. She graduated with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology in 2022 and transitioned to Harvard Medical School. While enrolled in coursework, Anna led a research project in the Department of Neurobiology as a recipient of an RSI fellowship. This experience encouraged her to pursue a PhD in 2024, as a recipient of the National Science Foundation's GRFP award. Anna is now at Yale, conducting her graduate research in the labs of Pietro De Camilli and Thomas Melia. Her interests span biochemistry, cell biology, and neuroscience.
Committed to supporting future scientists, Anna has served as a Resident Tutor at Harvard College and is currently a Graduate Affiliate at Yale College.
