Acute Interstitial Nephritis

Clinical diagnosis of acute interstitial nephritis (AIN) is challenging as there are no reliable, non-invasive biomarkers and its diagnosis currently requires a kidney biopsy. We are creating a cohort of participants with biopsy-confirmed AIN and controls and testing biomarkers of AIN. This work has identified CXCL9, tumor necrosis factor-α, and inteleukin-9 as biomarkers of AIN.
