YJBM is a PubMed-indexed, open-access journal whose mission is to provide graduate students and medical students with experience in writing, reviewing, and publishing articles. The journal has been in publication since 1928 and is supported by an editorial board made up of both students and faculty members. Manuscripts are peer-reviewed by faculty in the field and there is no publication fee. The YJBM has a Scopus CiteScore of 5.1 for 2024 and an Impact Factor of 3.9 for 2024.
The length of the manuscript can vary depending on the article type. For author guidelines, please refer to the YJBM website. The journal offers double-blind peer review. Reviewer bias (conscious or otherwise) should not affect the science that is published. While the editorial board encourages researchers to submit an anonymized manuscript, they also accept unblinded submissions for single-blind review, where only the reviewer names are kept anonymous.
