Vasospasm is the narrowing of the arteries in the brain following an aneurysm. It is one of the leading causes of death after a brain aneurysm. “Contemporary Understanding and Management of Cerebral Vasospasm” is the first book of its kind to address the topic of vasospasm and the first to propose an evidence-based treatment tailored to individual patients. The authors represent a group of multidisciplinary physicians at Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Yale School of Medicine.

The book covers topics from recent advances in molecular mechanisms contributing to cerebral vasospasm, to practical microsurgical and endovascular treatment.

Other topics discussed in the book include the role of MRI in subarachnoid haemorrhage-related vasospasm and computed tomography, CT perfusion angiography correlated with digital subtracted angiography, and transcranial Doppler ultrasound imaging for detecting intracerebral arterial vasospasm.
