Each of the Yale School of Medicine advisory houses has at least one community affiliate, to enhance ties between the houses and the New Haven community. Among other activities, students are working with the community affiliates to establish ongoing volunteer opportunities with the organizations the affiliates represent. Two advisory houses—Palade and Slayman—have weekly opportunities in place that are open to anyone interested in participating.
Community Soup Kitchen: Support and assist the Community Soup Kitchen, located at 84 Broadway in New Haven, with food prep and/or dinner service on Saturdays through the summer. Sign up for Saturday shifts through Aug. 16. Food prep is from 2:45 p.m. - 4:15 p.m., and dinner service runs from 3:45 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. Palade House organized this opportunity, but all are welcome!
