National Search for General Surgery Residency Program Director

The Department of Surgery at Yale School of Medicine/Yale New Haven Health System announced the commencement of a nationwide search for the next program director of the General Surgery Residency Program.

The selected candidate will bear responsibility for the effective management of the general surgery residency program, ensuring alignment with ACGME requirements and institutional policies. Moreover, they will advocate for residents within the department and across Yale School of Medicine/Yale New Haven Health System programs and policies.

Interim Vice Chair of Education, Mehra Golshan, MD, MBA, highlighted the importance of identifying a visionary leader for the role. "The General Surgery Residency program is a cornerstone of the department. We are seeking a leader with a demonstrated track record of specialty expertise, team leadership, and administrative acumen to help advance our vision for a cohesive and comprehensive learning and teaching experience, across the surgical education continuum.”

The search committee, chaired by Kelly Olino, MD, and Vikram Reddy MD, PhD, MBA, comprises faculty members, residents, and key stakeholders. Regular updates will be provided throughout the search process.
