Biography
Dr. Tamika Julien is a midwife and lecturer with the Yale School of Nursing Midwifery faculty practice. Dr. Julien graduated from Buffalo University with her bachelor’s and master’s in nursing specializing in Women’s Health. She then continued her education for a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at Stony Brook University and was a recipient of the Advanced Education Nursing Traineeship (AENT) grant.
As a certified lactation counselor, Dr. Julien’s doctoral research focused on improving exclusive breastfeeding rates in the immediate postpartum period. She is passionate about women’s health and has a special interest in family planning and caring for expectant individuals.
Dr. Julien is a current member of the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM), Nurse Practitioner of Women’s Health (NPWH), Association of Women’s Health Obstetric Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and Sigma Theta Tau National Nursing Honor Society.
Dr. Julien lives with her husband and their 2 year old pitbull named Spotty. She enjoys evening walks, watching movies, praying, and attending church.
