Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center at Trumbull physicians Michael Cohenuram, MD, Neal Fischbach, MD, David Witt, MD, Sajid Khan, MD, FACS, FSSO, and Saral Mehra, MD, MBA, FACS, are highlighted in the 2021 list of Top Doctors in Connecticut Magazine. Published in the magazine’s June issue, the 'Best Doctors' list includes physicians nominated by their peers.
Dr. Cohenuram is a medical oncologist specializing in breast and lung cancers. Dr. Fischbach is also a medical oncologist, caring for patients with breast, lung, gastrointestinal, prostate, and lymphoid cancers. Dr. Witt specializes in hematologic care. Dr. Khan specializes in the surgical management of patients with benign and malignant tumors of the liver, pancreas, bile ducts, gallbladder, stomach, colon, and melanoma and Dr. Mehra’s clinical practice focuses on surgical care for patients with head and neck cancers.

The Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center in Trumbull has more than 50 staff members and cares for more than 1,100 patients per month, with an additional 700 infusion visits and 800 radiation oncology visits. It is home to the Smilow Surgical Specialty Center and a multispecialty Breast Center and an on-site pharmacy, clinical research support laboratory. Through its collaboration with Yale Cancer Center, Connecticut’s only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, clinical trials are available to offer cutting edge treatment options. Supportive care includes oncology patient navigators, social workers, a dietician, genetic counselors, and a dedicated survivorship nurse. Patients also have access to integrative medicine services including massage, Reiki, acupuncture, music therapy, and psychology.
