June 05, 2024

Four Yale Department of Psychiatry faculty were invited speakers at the 2024 Schizophrenia and Related Disorders course at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory on Long Island.

Amy Arnsten, PhD, Albert E. Kent Professor of Neuroscience and Professor of Psychology; Kristen Brennand, PhD, Elizabeth Mears and House Jameson Professor of Psychiatry; Philip Corlett, PhD, associate professor of psychiatry; and David Glahn, PhD, professor adjunct of psychiatry, were invited to speak during the seven-day workshop, which began June 3.

The course provided students with the most current understanding of the molecular, cellular, and neural systems underlying the disturbances in brain function in these devastating illnesses. Students learned about the clinical aspects of schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar disorder and explored the genetic and neurobiological underpinnings of these complex psychiatric disorders.
