Education and Training

Methods Training

We provide a series of educational and training workshops on qualitative and mixed methodology to the Yale community. Workshop topics include: Introduction to Qualitative and Mixed Methods, Introduction to Qualitative Data Collection Methods, and Introduction to Qualitative Data Analysis and Data Management Software. The workshops are held on a biannual basis. We also hold office hours on a quarterly basis to consult with trainees who are proposing or conducting studies using qualitative or mixed methodology.

Health Disparities Research Methods Colloquium

ERIC hosts guest lecturers for a methods colloquium in health disparities research. The main objective of this colloquium is to highlight current and innovative methods in health disparities research. This colloquium also provides a forum for researchers to identify potential opportunities to collaborate and enhance health disparities research.

Research and Projects in Development Sessions (RAPID sessions)

ERIC seeks to build a community and strengthen research capacity within our ERIC network and broader Yale community on health equity research. RAPID sessions provide a space for junior investigators to share ideas and gain feedback on research and projects. The sessions also provide an opportunity for fostering collaboration and mentoring. Research and projects at different phases are welcome.

Internships

ERIC provides tailored, structured internships for health sciences trainees in health equity research. Two types of internships are available – research-based and skills-based experience. Interns join our existing community of health equity researchers and receive mentorship from our multi-disciplinary team. As members of the ERIC team, interns gain foundational knowledge in the application of research principles to ongoing research studies housed at ERIC and gain an understanding of the research process (from design to dissemination). Internships vary in-length and content depending on interest and capacity. Trainees of all levels are eligible to participate.
