AnnMarie Liapakis To Be Honored as a Transplantation "Superhero" AnnMarie Liapakis, MD, associate professor of medicine (digestive diseases) and of surgery (transplant); and medical director, Living Donor Liver Transplantation, is being honored on November 18 by Donate Life Connecticut at a virtual gala honoring “Superheroes” in transplant. Liapakis has worked in the liver transplant program at Yale since 2012, evaluating and following liver transplant donors and recipients. She is involved in many clinical research projects, including transplanting patients with hepatitis C or receiving hepatitis C positive organs, and addressing frailty to optimize transplant outcomes.
