Biography
Salem E. Hernández is a clinical fellow in the Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale University School of Medicine. He holds a medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine where he was an AHEC/Urban Health Scholar and elected into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Following medical school he completed his internship and residency in the Osler Medical Training program at The Johns Hopkins Hospital where he was selected to serve as an Assistant Chief of Service. Currently his clinical interests include improving ICU outcomes, humanism and palliative care measures in critical illness, interventional pulmonology and advanced bronchoscopic interventions.
Prior to medical school he served as an Assistant Dean of Admission at Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut. Outside of the hospital he can be found dancing salsa with his wife in the Ninth Square of New Haven, Connecticut.
