Overview
Anish Sharda, MBBS (a medical degree awarded outside of the U.S.), is a physician-scientist and an assistant professor of medicine at Yale School of Medicine. Dr Sharda is a classical hematologist who specializes in the treatment of bleeding, clotting, and platelet disorders.
Dr. Sharda runs a National Institutes of Health-funded laboratory that conducts research in bleeding and clotting disorders, specifically von Willebrand disease. His research aims to improve understanding of this bleeding disorder as well as discover novel treatments.
Dr. Sharda completed his medical training at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Nepal, followed by a residency in internal medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. He then pursued a clinical and research fellowship in hematology and oncology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School, where he was a faculty member until 2022.
