Department of Cell Biology Beyond the Bench Seminar

Dr. Shao earned his PhD in Biological and Medical Informatics at UCSF. He then worked as a research specialist at UCSF and later at the HHMI Janelia Research Campus, focusing on development of innovative fluorescence microscopy techniques, such as structured-illumination microscopy (SIM) and lattice light-sheet microscopy. Since joining Yale in 2016, Dr. Shao custom builds cutting-edge microscopes, provides expertise and guidance for imaging and image analysis, and teaches microscopy classes.
