Department of Microbial Pathogenesis
Our department is a research-focused academic unit dedicated to conducting excellent research and training at the intersection of microbes and disease. Here you will find information about our research and educational programs, including the Yale Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) Graduate Program in Microbiology.
Both the Department of Microbial Pathogenesis and the Graduate Program in Microbiology address important questions related to the mechanisms of microbial pathogenesis, host response to pathogens, and the development of strategies to prevent and combat infectious diseases. Areas of expertise of labs in the department include molecular biology of bacteria and viruses, cell biology, immunology, microbiome, structural biology, and imaging.
