Suicide Prevention Effects of Extreme Risk Protection Order Laws in Four States
Extreme risk protection order laws -- so called "red flag laws" -- in Connecticut, California, Maryland, and Washington are effective suicide prevention tools, according to a study published in Journal of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law and co-authored by Reena Kapoor, MD, associate professor of psychiatry, and Michael Norko, MD, MA, professor of psychiatry, and colleagues.
