Biography
Tara Rizzo is deputy director of the Equity Research and Innovation Center. She leads operations for the center in addition to participating as a member of the research team. She previously served as project manager for the Patient Reported Experiences of Discrimination in Health Care Tool (PreDict) project, where she oversaw the development and testing of the tool. She was also the project director of the Promotion and Retention of Diversity in Medical Education (PaRoDiME) project, a policy-oriented research project, which seeks to contribute key evidence about the racial/ethnic and gender distribution, promotion, and retention of faculty in medical schools across the United States through comprehensive secondary data analyses. Prior to joining ERIC, Tara worked at Griffin Hospital, where she served as the director of research for the Office on Women’s Health-funded Community Center of Excellence (CCOE), project manager of the HRSA-funded Community Access Program in Women’s Health, and practice manager of the Griffin Faculty Practice. She has extensive experience in community-engaged research; qualitative and quantitative research design, implementation, analysis, and dissemination; implementation of complex data/EMR systems; grant administration management; and staff management. Tara received her BS in chemistry from Fairfield University and her MPH from Yale University.
