Dibyadeep Datta, PhD, assistant professor of psychiatry, is a 2023 recipient of a Yale Center for Clinical Investigation (YCCI) Scholar Award.
The 24-month award is funded by the National Institutes of Health National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences and was effective October 1. It is intended to assist Datta in developing his career as a clinical/translational scientist through salary support, protected time to conduct research, assistance in preparing data for publication and grant applications, and help in beginning to establish an independent research program.
Datta’s funded research project will elucidate the spatial and temporal sequelae of calcium dysfunction and tau phosphorylation in vulnerable cortical regions in patients with sporadic Alzheimer’s Disease, and how these interfaces with inflammatory cascades.
Datta will additionally participate in Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) meetings annually and attend local YCCI educational events, including Yale-Rockefeller Day, YCCI Scholar Day, and the Janeway Society Annual Retreat.
