Our cognitive abilities rely on the functions of the brain that arise through complex and intricate regulation of cell intrinsic and extrinsic developmental processes. Studies using animal and human primary tissues have begun to reveal some of the basic principles underlying brain development. However, our understanding of human brain development is far from complete. My lab investigates human brain development and its related disorders through stem cell, genomics, genetics and neurobiological tools.
