Biographical Info

Peter Guarino is the Director of the VA Cooperative Studies Program Coordinating Center at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven, CT, an International Organization for Standardization (ISO 9001) certified organization, and an assistant clinical professor of biostatistics at YSPH. He is currently the Chair of the national VA Cooperative Studies Program Board of Directors, a member of the Government Steering Committee for a joint DoD/VA Consortium to Alleviate PTSD, serves on the Executive Committee of five ongoing large multicenter randomized trials and works on several collaborations with YCAS. Dr. Guarino has more than 15 years’ experience in the design, conduct and analysis of clinical trials. His primary research interests are in measuring and improving the effectiveness of informed consent in clinical research, improving the quality and efficiency of the design, conduct and analysis of multicenter clinical trials and comparative effectiveness studies.
