Biographical Info

Melinda Pettigrew, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Microbial Diseases, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Title IX coordinator at the Yale School of Public Health. She was recently named a Public Voices Thought Leaders Fellow. Professor Pettigrew has an international reputation in the epidemiology of pediatric infectious diseases, particularly in Streptococcus pneumoniae as a cause of otitis media and community-acquired pneumonia. Other research interests include the study of antibiotic induced disruptions to the microbiome. She serves on the Steering Committee for the Antibiotic Resistance Leadership group and serves on the editorial board of the mBio.
