Biographical Info

Melinda Pettigrew, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Microbial Diseases, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Title IX coordinator at the Yale School of Public Health. She was recently named a Fellow of the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program, which is dedicated towards preparing women for leadership positions in academic health centers. Professor Pettigrew has a national reputation in the epidemiology of pediatric infectious diseases, particularly in Streptococcus pneumoniae as a cause of otitis media and community-acquired pneumonia, microbial diversity and it relates to colonization and disease, and antimicrobal resistance. She is a standing member of the NIH Clinical Research and Field Studies of Infections Diseases Study Section,. She also serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Clinical Microbiology.
