Biographical Info

Maureen E. Canavan, Ph.D., has been on the research faculty at Yale School of Public Health since 2011. As a member of the Global Health Leadership Institute (GHLI) team, she conducts qualitative and quantitative data analysis of GHLI studies in countries including Ghana, Ethiopia and China, and secondary data analysis of publicly available datasets. Her research interests include employment, mental health and aging. Dr. Canavan’s previous research focused on the effect of involuntary job loss on depressive symptoms. Before coming to Yale, she worked in health education and behavior science at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She received an M.P.H. from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, School of Public Health and a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University.
