Biographical Info

Marney A. White, PhD, MS, is a clinical psychologist, specializing in eating and weight disorders. In addition to her appointment as Assistant Professor in Psychiatry, she has a secondary appointment in Chronic Disease Epidemiology and is the Associate Director of the Yale Center for Anxiety and Mood Disorders. Dr. White's research focus is on weight and eating problems, with particular emphasis on the interaction of tobacco use with eating disorders and weight concerns. Current projects focus on the influence of smoking on factors related to binge eating, specifically the influence of cigarette smoking on food cravings and emotional eating. She is associate editor for BMC Psychiatry and on the editorial boards of Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases, Journal of addiction Research and Therapy, and ISRN Obesity.
