Welcome to the Pillai Lab
Welcome to the Pillai Laboratory at the Section of Medical Oncology and Hematology, Yale Cancer Center and Dept of Medicine, Yale School of Medicine.
The Pillai Lab investigates the molecular and biochemical mechanisms that govern hematopoiesis—the process of blood cell production—in both healthy and disease states. Adult hematopoiesis is a highly complex and dynamic process, and our research focuses on the pivotal role of RNA processing in orchestrating this cascade.
We combine genome-wide and transcriptome-wide approaches with classical hematopoietic assays to uncover how RNA regulation contributes to normal blood formation and how its dysregulation drives disease.
