Biographical Info

Dr. Pettker graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University (1995) and subsequently gained experience in teaching at Eton College in England under an Annenberg Fellowship. He received his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons (2000) and completed his Ob/Gyn residency at New York–Presbyterian Hospital (Columbia University) (2004). Following this, he joined Yale as a fellow in Maternal–Fetal Medicine (2007) and is now on the faculty as an Assistant Professor. As Medical Director of the Yale-New Haven Hospital Labor and Birth Unit, Dr. Pettker's special areas of interest are labor and delivery and healthcare quality and safety. He lives in New Haven with his wife, Hope Metcalf, who works and teaches at the Yale Law School.
