The Clinical Neuroscience of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

This study is designed to help us learn about brain development by researching eye contact in children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and typically-developing individuals. This project uses EEG and eye tracking technologies to measure brain function while using behavioral tasks to examine social, communication, and emotional skills.

The research will help us understand the social difficulties associated with these disorders and lead to new methods to develop, track, and assess treatments. Participation involves one or two visits to our lab where individuals will complete recordings of their brain waves while watching videos, talk to a clinician, and complete questionnaires. Families are provided with clinical evaluations which include individualized recommendations and written reports.

We are currently recruiting children with Autism, Intellectual Disability, and typically developing children between the ages of 6 and 17 years old. We are also seeking typically developed adults and adults with Autism between the ages of 18 and 40 years old.

This study pays up to $120 as compensation for participation.
