Community-Engaged Research

Under the leadership of YCCI Deputy Director Margaret Grey, DrPH, RN, FAAN, YCCI's Community Research Core is closely aligned with YCCI's mission of training the next generation of clinical and translational investigators and providing a robust infrastructure to support research. Her vision integrates investigators from the Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Public Health into community-based and translational research to develop effective interventions for preventing and treating the community's most pressing health conditions. Specific goals and programs include:

Creating and enhancing education and training opportunities for patients, students, investigators, clinicians and community partners from multiple fields to conduct translational research

Creating infrastructure and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations required to advance translational research

Engaging the global community by creating and expanding educational programs, clinical collaborations and research projects in countries around the world

Increasing awareness, interest, and participation in translational research at Yale and disseminating research findings to the community

Providing community partners with the skills and resources to implement high quality translational research in community settings
