Yale-Harvard Hotel-based Closed-Loop Studies in Children

Conditions

Children's Health | Diabetes Mellitus - Type 1 | Diseases of the Endocrine System

Phase Pilot

What is the purpose of this trial?

The purpose of this study is to test the feasibility of an automated insulin delivery system that will control blood glucose levels automatically in children with type 1 diabetes.  Using insulin pumps and continuous glucose sensor devices that are connected by a investigational smartphone “app”, we will study the safety and effectiveness of this system to control blood sugar levels over the course of a 3-day / 2-night outpatient study, during which time children and a parent will participate in typical daily activities and stay over in a hotel in downtown New Haven.
