Biography

Dragomir Radev has a PhD in Computer Science from Columbia University. Dragomir's research interests are in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Information Retrieval, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence. He is currently working on lexical semantics, sentiment analysis, question answering, text summarization, deep learning, and dialogue systems, as well as the application of NLP to the humanities, social sciences, and bioinformatics. Dragomir is the past secretary of ACL (Association for Computational Linguistics). Dragomir is also co-founder of the North American Computational Linguistics Open Competition (NACLO) and the coach of the US team for the International Linguistics Olympiad. Dragomir has more than 200 international publications as well as three patents. He is the surveys editor for the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research (JAIR). Dragomir is a fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), fellow of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL), fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), and fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and also the recipient of the University of Michigan's Faculty Recognition Award.
