Yuen, Weathers receive Pilot Research Awards

February 19, 2017

Two residents in the Solnit Integrated Training Program have received Pilot Research Awards to support separate research projects.

Eunice Yuen, MD, PhD, and Judah Weathers, MD, DPhil, received funding made available to post-doctoral trainees enrolled in an accredited training program at the Yale Child Study Center. The Solnit Integrated Training Program is a joint venture in residency training between the Yale Child Study Center and Yale Department of Psychiatry.

Yuen’s project is entitled “Inhibitory Synaptic Dysfunction in Autism Spectrum Disorder.” The title of Weathers’ project is “Brain Imaging in the Bipolar Prodrome.”

The Pilot Research Award is supported by the Alan B. Slifka Foundation through the Riva Ariella Ritvo endowment. It provides support to early stage clinicians interested in pursuing a career in academic child psychiatry research.

Research projects should be relevant to child mental health. The goal of the award is to provide real-time, interactive feedback on early grant applications of trainees and increase candidates’ competitiveness for future external funding.
