Opiate modulation of feeding

Trial Purpose and Description

To determine the effect of one dose of morphine, naloxone and placebo on brain activity in healthy participants and patients suffering from pain. 

To determine whether the effect of one dose of morphine, naloxone and placebo on brain activity in healthy participants and patients suffering from pain is different depending on Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) at the gene loci coding for opiate and dopamine related neurotransmission. 

Ages: 18 years and younger

Gender: Both


Eligibility Criteria

participants to be eligible must have :

Low back pain without any other major chronic medical illness such as diabetes, heart disease or rheumatoid arthritis
