The Scholar Program for junior faculty members highlights YCCI’s commitment to nurture the next generation of clinical and translational researchers. Scholars have protected time to focus on research projects and are guided every step of the way by a dedicated team of senior faculty mentors. They make ample use of YCCI’s research infrastructure, research-related courses, and such opportunities as the monthly Research-in-Progress meetings to interact with other Scholars and investigators across the institution.

Since the program was established in 2006, there have been 123 past or current Scholars.  Members of this talented group have applied successfully for $293 million of independent grant funding - including 47 Individual K Career Development Awards and 43 R01 awards - and have published more than 2,200 papers. Of the program’s graduates, more than 90% have remained in academic medicine, while five have continued their research careers in the pharmaceutical industry. Read more about the Scholar Program here.
