Carolyn Fredericks, MD, Assistant Professor of Neurology, has been named a Henry F. McCance Yale Scholar.

A member of Yale’s Clinical Neuroscience Imaging Center (CNIC), Dr. Fredericks’s research focuses on preclinical Alzheimer’s disease and on less common Alzheimer’s variants.

As announced in the April/May 2007 edition of the Medicine@Yale newsletter, the McCance Yale Scholar initiative provides research funding to an outstanding, young faculty member within Yale School of Medicine’s program in Cellular Neuroscience, Neurodegeneration and Repair.

“The appointment feels like a vote of confidence in the research program I have just begun to build, and it will give me the latitude to take more risks in my thinking and in my experiments than many early-career faculty are privileged to do,” said Dr. Fredericks. “Moving forward, this appointment will give me the flexibility I need to grow my new lab into a fully independent program, letting me take advantage of the wonderful neuroimaging resources at Yale to test my ideas.”
