April 13, 2022

Hilary Blumberg, MD, John and Hope Furth Professor of Psychiatric Neuroscience and Professor of Psychiatry, and in the Child Study Center and of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, has been elected to the International College of Neuropsychopharmacology (CINP) Council.

CINP councilors hail from around the world and are leaders in the field. They are nominated by members and serve for a minimum of four years. Each councilor is required to serve on a CINP committee.

The mission of CINP is to encourage and promote international scientific study, teaching, and the application of neuropsychopharmacology. The college will hold its annual World Congress June 9-13 this year in Taiwan.

Blumberg is director of the Mood Disorders Research Program at Yale, which brings together a multi-disciplinary group of scientists to study mood and related disorders across the lifespan to generate new methods for early detection and more effective and personalized interventions, and prevent the suffering and suicide risk associated with the disorders. This research includes the use of new state-of-the-art brain scanning methods and novel therapeutics. The program is also known for training young scientists to be new leaders in the field.
