The YSM Alumni Fund had it most successful year yet, raising $1,161,505 in 2018-2019 to help support the Yale School of Medicine student experience, setting a new fundraising record for the school! For the fiscal year closing June 30, 1,593 alumni contributed to the Fund.
Our total was boosted in the final ten days of the year with the offer of an anonymous donor to match every dollar donated, up to $25,000. With special outreach and messaging, our first ever giving “challenge” resulted in an additional $59,000!
The impact of collective annual giving by alumni at every level is powerful. Gifts to the Alumni Fund provide immediate unrestricted support to the school’s most pressing needs and help to make a Yale medical education more accessible and affordable. With special attention on financial aid this year, Alumni Fund gifts to support financial aid and scholarships are up 74% from last year.
The strength of our alumni community is something we can all be proud of. Thank you to our volunteers who serve as ambassadors to the Fund and thank you to all of our generous donors. Strong participation in the annual fund is a reflection of alumni attitudes towards the school. This year’s fundraising is one indicator of how grateful our alumni are for their YSM experiences and we are humbled by your willingness to pay it forward to help current and future students.
