Elizabeth Morse Luoma, Ph.D.

Beth joined Women's Health Research at Yale in 2019. Previously, she served as the STEM Education Program Director for Yale’s Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning, where she trained faculty and future faculty in the latest and most effective methods of evidence-based instruction. Before then, she worked at the center as a McDougal Teaching Fellow and a Coordinator of the teaching fellows.
She received her A.B. summa cum laude with honors in biology from the College of the Holy Cross. After graduation, she worked as a researcher at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston before completing her Ph.D. in cell biology at Yale, studying cell adhesion in the Calderwood lab.
Outside of work, Beth has served as a mentor for Women in Science at Yale and the Global STEM Alliance’s 1000 Girls, 1000 Futures Program. She has also volunteered with the New Haven Family Science Nights Program and New Haven Science Fair Program. She is a fellow and undergraduate advisor in Silliman College at Yale, and an instructor for Yale’s Pathways to Science Course for local high school students.

Mona joined the center in 1998 as the Program Manager reporting to the Director. Her management and organization skills have created and continue to maintain a welcoming and productive environment for the staff in coordinating educational, fundraising events and scientific programs. Mona collaborates with community leaders on the Advisory Council for WHRY to ensure the stability and growth of the center. She now works closely with the Director to oversee special projects.

Rick joined WHRY in 2015. He received an MA in journalism from New York University and a BA in psychology from Cornell University. Rick appreciates the value of life-long learning and applies his two decades of experience as a reporter and an account executive for an advertising firm to advancing the center’s communications goals.
Grants & Finance Administrator

Marco is a Certified Public Accountant who joined WHRY in 2014 with more than 10 years of experience in corporate and nonprofit settings. He earned his BA in accounting from Baruch College, has previously worked as a CPA, and performs a full range of accounting functions, including maintaining the financial and accounting records of Women's Health Research at Yale's various portfolios.
