 , MD\, MPH Dr. Yngvild Olsen is a National Advisor with Manatt Health. A 
 nationally recognized leader in addiction medicine\, public health policy
  and clinical care integration\, Yngvild provides strategic counsel to cl
 ients working with substance use disorders (SUDs)\, particularly opioid u
 se disorder\, primary care integration and Medicaid\, as well as state bl
 ock grants\, Medicaid waivers and behavioral health integration efforts. 
 With over two decades of experience across clinical\, academic and govern
 mental roles at the local\, state and federal level—including leadership 
 at REACH Health Services\, Johns Hopkins and the Baltimore Substance Abus
 e System—Yngvild brings unmatched knowledge\, deep policy insight and a s
 trong national network. She is board-certified in addiction medicine\, tr
 ained in general internal medicine and is widely respected for her contri
 butions to advancing addiction treatment and recovery nationwide. She has
  also advised states on the use of Medicaid waivers\, block grant alignme
 nt and behavioral health integration strategies. Most recently\, Yngvild 
 served as the Director of the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment at the
  Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)\, whe
 re she oversaw $5 billion in grant funding and led national efforts to ex
 pand access to care\, strengthen the behavioral health workforce and prom
 ote evidence-based practices in the treatment of SUDs. Yngvild has also h
 eld leadership roles at the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM)
 \, where she led the association’s policy position development on a range
  of substance use-related issues and provided input on the ASAM Criteria 
 or continuum of care\, which is the most widely used and comprehensive se
 t of standards and framework for the specialized treatment of patients wi
 th addiction and co-occurring conditions. About the Schottenfeld Lecture 
 The Schottenfeld Lecture is held each September to acknowledge the contri
 butions of our colleague\, Richard Schottenfeld\, MD\, to the integration
  of general medicine and addiction treatment. Dr. Schottenfeld\, an Addic
 tion Psychiatrist and founding Director of the Yale Addiction Psychiatry 
 Residency Training Program\, is an experienced clinician\, teacher and cl
 inical researcher whose work has focused on improving the efficacy\, acce
 ssibility\, and availability of addiction treatment in the United States 
 and internationally. In the 1980’s and the 1990’s\, while at Yale\, Richa
 rd helped pioneer primary care-based models of care for people who inject
  drugs. He currently serves at the Chair of Psychiatry at Howard Universi
 ty College of Medicine. In his role as a Professor of Psychiatry at Yale\
 , he was instrumental in supporting and mentoring numerous clinicians and
  researchers locally and internationally. His work helped lay the foundat
 ion for the Yale Program in Addiction Medicine and we are delighted to ho
 nor his legacy with the annual Schottenfeld Lecture. Addiction Medicine R
