The School of Medicine Office of Communications will grant access to any Yale employee to edit a YSM website upon approval from the department’s administrator.
Students (undergraduate and graduate), casual employees, and temporary employees are not allowed access to Tridion.
We also recommend that a single website have no more than two (2) editors at the same time & that a website under 10 pages be managed by a single editor.
Training & Support
The Office of Communications has generated a tremendous amount of support materials, including written instructions for every template available and video instructions for all major aspects of the system. These materials are available on the Tridion Support site.
Tridion has a steep learning curve, especially for users unfamiliar with the web, or for users who have not previously used content management systems. In addition, mastering Tridion requires regular use (more than once a week).
The YSM Office of Communications does not, in most cases, directly approve the integrity of content created and published on YSM websites. Nonetheless, it is the expectation of our office that proper review and approval protocols are in place.
Finally, per the University Provost's Web Accessibility Policy, it is the responsibility of everyone who is creating content for web publication to:
- Become knowledgeable about accessibility best practices and,
- Ensure any and all content and files going onto any website meet to WCAG 2.0 Level AA Accessibility criteria.
