Before joining Yale New Haven Health to lead the physics, dosimetry and engineering team in early 2019, Dr. Brian Wang was the chief of physics and medical physics residency director at University of Louisville. As a clinical medical physicist, Dr. Wang performs or supervises technical procedures to assure the safe and effective delivery of radiation treatments for cancer patients as prescribed by radiation oncologists. In addition to routine clinical physics services, he leads the physics team to implement new technologies into clinical practices. Dr. Wang is actively participating in national professional organizations such as AAPM, ASTRO and RSS. He is a physics examiner for the ABR oral board exam. As an immigrant from China, Dr. Wang is a board member and the treasurer for SANTRO and he was elected into the presidential chain for NACMPA in 2018. He is an associate editor for the Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics and a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. His research interests include motion management, image guidance and Stereotactic Radiosurgery and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy.
