Julie Kang, MD, PhD, has been named an Assistant Professor in the Department of Therapeutic Radiology and specializes in the treatment of head and neck, prostate, bladder, and skin cancers, among others. She sees patients as part of the Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center at Trumbull. Dr. Kang is a graduate of Yale University and she received her medical degree from Keck School of Medicine of USC where she also received her PhD in Systems Biology.
She has authored numerous articles focused on optimizing outcomes and decreasing toxicity for patients with cancer, and has extensive experience conducting clinical trials utilizing immunotherapy and personalized medicine in these malignancies. She has expertise in state-of-the-art techniques to treat patients including intensity-modulated radiation therapy, image-guided radiation therapy, stereotactic body radiation therapy, and adaptive radiation therapy.

Timothy Robinson, MD, PhD, has been named an Assistant Professor in the Department of Therapeutic Radiology and his clinical practice focuses on building an inpatient and metastasis service at Smilow Cancer Hospital. Dr. Robinson is also caring for patients through the Spine Oncology and Hematology Programs at Smilow Cancer Hospital.
Dr. Robinson received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine, where he also received his PhD in Molecular Cancer Biology. He has a clinical research program focused on the emerging roles of therapeutic radiation in hematologic and secondary CNS malignancies in combination with CAR T-cell and other immune-based therapies. His translational research program is focused on the role of alternative splicing in cancer, particularly with respect to its role in mediating cellular and immune therapy resistance.
