Since the inception of the Gamma Knife Program in 1998, Jim Bond, PhD, has been a constant and indispensable presence. As the program’s enduring physicist, he has helped guide Gamma Knife radiosurgery from its earliest days as a novel treatment platform to the highly sophisticated, automated, precision-driven program it is today.

His expertise, steady leadership, and deep understanding of the technology have been central to the program’s success.
Beyond his technical skill, Jim’s dedication to patients and colleagues is extraordinary. Gamma Knife treatment days often begin early and can extend late into the night, yet Jim has always stayed until the final treatment is complete. He brings calm, focus, and a quirky sense of humor to even the longest days.
